Cavity Barrier & Acoustic Sealing
Acoustic cavity barriers and ceiling systems are designed to seal voids above suspended ceilings to maintain fire separation (typically 30-60+ mins) while preventing airborne noise transfer. These barriers often use rockwool, mineral fiber, or specialized acoustic composites to prevent smoke/fire spread and enhance acoustic privacy. Cavity barrier installation is often carried out in conjunction with acoustic sealing – supplementing the fire-resistant properties of cavity barriers by reducing the transmission of noise between spaces. The soundproofing properties of acoustic seals are achieved by sealing and filling gaps and joints along and within walls, floors and ceilings.
